Terre des hommes Strong partnership for a strong future

Terre des hommes & DACHSER SE

For over 20 years, Terre des hommes and DACHSER SE have enjoyed a strong partnership that has made a lasting improvement to the lives of children and young people worldwide. As an international logistics company, DACHSER takes responsibility—for the environment, for society, and for the future of the next generation. Together, they are committed to children's rights, education, and climate protection.

As a subsidiary of DACHSER SE, DACHSER & KOLB also supports Terre des hommes. Our strategic focus on sustainability, corporate values, and principles therefore reflect the same aspects. These include, in particular, ecological, economic, and social goals, as well as support for the aid organization Terre des hommes. Further information on the partnership between Terre des hommes and DACHSER SE can be found here.

Terre des hommes

Terre des hommes Deutschland e.V. is an internationally oriented development aid organization for children. It is independent of governments, business, religious communities, and political parties.

Since the mid-1960s, the organization has been promoting the vision of a "world of humanity." Today, it runs 416 projects for children in need in more than 47 countries.

The central goal:

  • Realizing children's rights by building democratic societies through
  • preserving and expanding safe and empowering democratic spaces as a basic prerequisite for the implementation of human and children's rights.

In contrast to the strategic goals, the focus topic formulates an overarching work mandate that is anchored in all fields of work and project regions.

Responsibility does not end at company or country borders. Take action now and donate.

What are the specific goals of Terre des hommes?

The strategic goals are set every five years at the delegates' conference by project partners, youth delegates, and volunteer members. These strategic goals describe the areas and fields of work in which we focus our efforts to fulfill our organization's mission: working together with children to enforce their rights worldwide (source: tdh.de).

1

Education and empowerment for life prospects

By 2028, children and young people affected by exploitation, violence, and exclusion will have greater access to high-quality, needs-based learning and training opportunities.

2

Access to rights for children in migration contexts

By 2028, children and young people who have been placed in vulnerable situations due to migration will regain the rights that were taken away from them. This will be achieved through a coherent transnational program consisting of networked local support structures.

3

Support for young environmental activists

By 2028, children and young people in Terre des hommes' project countries will be acting as young environmental activists and organizing themselves in civil society networks that inspire community-based solutions to the diverse environmental crises and hold political decision-makers accountable for ensuring their environmental rights and protection from environmental hazards.

4

Gender equality

By 2028, take action against gender-based rights violations and discrimination. Demand gender rights and overcome existing structures of oppression (feminist movement) by challenging patriarchal and binary structures in culture and society as the cause of gender-based rights violations and discrimination at the local, national, and international levels.

People in emerging and developing countries are hit hard by climate change. We want to get involved locally to preserve and improve the livelihoods of children and young people.
